  • A study of the influence of Dominican preacher Girolamo Savonarola on Michelangelo's art. This article highlights a number of scholarly contributions exploring this influence on various works by the artist before examining the iconography of his Pietà sculpture in St Peters, Rome, and interpreting it in relation to several preachings by Savonarola.
