  • Resumen
    • This article examines the authorship of a series of photographs of Mies van der Rohe's German pavilion at the Barcelona Expo in Barcelona, Spain, in May 1929. This series of 14 different pictures of the pavilion's exterior and interior can be found in almost every publication about the building since 1929. The question of who was responsible for them has remained unclear to this day. It is known that the photographer had sold the copyright to the Berlin Bild-Bericht photo agency almost immediately after their emergence; almost all the vintage copies of the series bear the agency's stamp at the back. The archive of this agency no longer exists, but documentary evidence and stylistic comparison of the series with known photographs by Sasha Stone, whose name is mentioned among the agency's photographer, demonstrates that Stone was the author of these pictures. Mies created the masterwork, and Stone made sure that it would become a legend.
