Resumen de Les stéréotypes de l'iconographie religieuse dans un diocèse de la Croatie habsbourgeoise (XVIIe-XVIIIe siècles)

Luc Oresković

  • A study of the religious iconography used in the Catholic diocese of Senj-Modrŭs in Hapsburg-ruled Croatia in the 17th and 18th centuries. The diocese's location on the Adriatic coast opened it up to easy contact with Italian post-Tridentine art. However, the Austrian nature of the area's civic and military administration was also rigidly imposed. Catholic beliefs were largely expressed through Italian and Styrian influences, with local expressions most often limited to mimesis of presentation and hierarchic division of devotions.
