  • Resumen
    • We describe a homemade, visible light spectrometer for use in secondary education. The system consists of a digital photograph frame as a source, square glass saltshaker cuvettes, and a digital camera detector. A sample cuvette and blank cuvette are photographed side-by-side in front of the source. The red, green, and blue intensities from appropriate image regions are converted to absorbance using open source software. Several simple spectroscopy experiments are described.
