    The study of medieval Croatia’s history faces a scarce of sources before the twelfth century.

    Therefore, a study of the historical construction of the Croatian courts cannot ignore the mutual comparison of the few written sources with archaeological and epigraphic sources traces. In this paper, we intend to map the historical building of the Croatian courts, and identify the monastic and papal contribution to the process of stabilization of the Croatian Kingdom in the tenth and eleventh centuries.

    O estudo sobre a história da Croácia medieval carece de registros documentais para o período anterior ao século XII. Por isso, um estudo sobre a construção histórica das cortes croatas não pode prescindir do cotejamento das poucas fontes manuscritas com os vestígios arqueológicos e epigráficos. Nesse sentido, neste artigo pretendemos mapear a construção histórica das cortes croatas, nela identificando a contribuição monástica e papal no processo de espacialização e de estabilização do Reino Croata nos séculos X e XI.
