  • We describe a straightforward way to built, install and operate a compute cluster for commodity hardware. A compute cluster is an utility that allows you to perform large-scale computations that are possible with individual PCs. We use commodities components to keep the price down and to ensure easy availability of initial setup and replacement parts, and we use Apache Hadoop as middleware for distributed data storage and parallel computing.
