  • Resumen
    • In this edition of ISPadmin, I take a look at the area of DHCP stands for "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol" and is used by many Ethernet-based networks for handing out Ip addresses to client devices (PCs) in an easy, scalable manner. It is based upon the older BOOTP protocol thougt it does have its own IETF standards (RFC2131 [2] and RFC2131 are primary; see [3] for a more complete list). DHPC is closely related to other network protocols such a TFTP and DNS, which is why many commercial software vendors package their DHCP offerings with these (and other) rtelated protocol servers.
