  • The article discusses a 17th-century gilt-bronze portrait bust of Italian marchese Bartolomeo Ruspoli, attributed to Filippo Carcani and located at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The author describes the commission of the bust by Ruspoli's nephew Francesco following Ruspoli's death in the 1680s and compares the bust to other portraits of Ruspoli such as a funeral mask and painted portraits. Also discussed is biographical information on Ruspoli and his title.
