The article traces the provenance of the paintings "Landscape with Polyphemus" and "Landscape with Hercules and Cacus," by 17th-century painter Nicolas Poussin. The author suggests that the paintings were owned by Jean Bouteroue d'Aubigny through his 1716 marriage to Marie Françoise Lemoyne and were mentioned in their marriage contract. The author traces the ownership to Lemoyne's father Charles Lemoyne de Rennemoulin.
