  • Due to the recent acquisition by the Prado museum in Madrid, Spain, of an extensive collection of drawings, prints, and other documents from the Madrazo family, it is possible to identify some new drawings by Federico de Madrazo connected with his Three Marys at the Tomb. This material includes a group of drawings of extraordinary artistic beauty that reveal his thorough working methods as well as the significance that he attached to this pivotal work.
