The human body ha ve enzymatic mechanisms against free radicals. Also antioxidants substances coming from diet work against oxidative stress. These substances are tocopherol, carotenoids, ascorbic acid, bioflavonoids and selenium. So, diet is important to prevent the oxidative damages.
The pathologic procesess related to oxidative stress are ageing process, cardiovascular conditions, cancer, and ocular diseases.
