  • Resumen
    • Propol is is a bee product that is collected by these insects from resins and gums from plants. There are more than 50 active principies identified , among it phenolic, caffeic and cinnamic acid derivatives, flavonoids, etc.

Many studies have proven that several of these principies are actives in several phases of cancer induction or evolution.

Main studies are made over laboratory animals who were administered a carcinogen. Principies like caffeic acid phenilethilester, phenilethil caffeate, or caffeic acid have inhibiting properties over carcinogenesis. From these studies we can suppose that propolis has: antimithigenic, anticarcinogenic, inmunomodulating and chemopreventive actions on experimental tumor promotion.
