Resumen de La dieta vegetariana en la insuficiencia renal crónica

Montserrat Gaspar Pardo, Nieves Mampel Royo

  • Chronic renal insufficiency is an irreversible diminution of glomerular filtration. There are problems in absorption, metabolism and excretion of many nutrients and catabolitic detritus. Uremic toxins, also lead to the patient to anorexia. Hipoproteic diets can be useful in the prevention of development of CRI. Proteic clearance is directely relationed with the severity of IRC, but in hipoproteic diets we must pay special care to have all the essential aminoacids in the diet. Carbohidrates must be generous in the diet, specially of delayed absorption. Lipids would be reducted to 30 % of total energy intake. There is a revision also of the nutritional status of Ca, P, K , Mg, Na, other oligoelements and vitamins, fiber, and water.
