Tomás Adzet Porredón

  • Ethnopharmacology studies traditional uses of medicinal plants and remedies. It can be divided in etbnobotany, taxonomic botany, extractive chemistry and experimental and clínical pharmacology. In practice, it has two important parts, the field study with healers and shamans, and the pharmacological study, made in the laboratory. Comparison between traditional uses and pharniacological research is the aim of ethnopharmacology.
