Oltre all’Ungheria, questa forma solenne nonché eccezionale di promozione è riconosciuta in Austria (Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis Rei publicae). Tra il 1918 e il 1952, all’epoca della Prima Repubblica, la promotio sub auspiciis Imperatoris fu sospesa in Austria. Questa promozione fu reintrodotta in base al decreto (Dekret) del ministro dell’educazione. In Ungheria, la Promotio sub auspiciis Rei publicae popularis fu reintrodotta nel 1958. In 1990 questa forma di promotio si chiama, come in Austria, Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis Rei publicae.

The solemn as well as exceptional form of the Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis Rei publicae exists today only in two countries, namely in Austria and in Hungary. It has to be mentioned that this solemn Promotio was suspended in Austria between 1918 and 1952. The Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis Rei publicae was reestablished by virtue of the edict (decree) of the minister of education. In Hungary the Promotio sub auspiciis Rei publicae popularis was reintroduced in 1958. In 1990 this form of promotio was renamed, as it is called in Austria, Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis Rei publicae.
