The periodic table is a classification system for all of the elements—it can also be a source of inspiration for creativity in the classroom and outreach to the public. This article describes one instance in which high school students researched and designed a periodic table featuring elephants and this periodic table was used to festoon an elephant statue now permanently on display in front of the ACS building in Washington, DC.
