Resumen de Una carta del P. Pou al canonge Joan Calom

El 26 de maig de 1789 l’humanista P. Bartomeu Pou, desterrat a Itàlia, envià a Joan Colom una carta llatina de felicitació pel seu nomenament com a canonge de la seu mallorquina.
El fet presenta un triple interès, no sols per la carta en si, també per la persona que l’envia i per la persona que la rep. En aquest treball es fa l’edició crítica i la traducció d’aquesta carta i s’estudia la figura de Joan Colom, humanista fins ara pràcticament desconegut.

On the 26th May, 1789, the humanist P. Bartolomeu Pou, exiled in Italy, sent a Latin letter of congratulations, accompanied by a poem in elegiac distichs, to Joan Colom for his appointment as canon of the Majorcan cathedral. This fact rises a triple interest: in the person who is sending the letter, in the person who receives it, and in the letter itself. In this work, the figure of Joan Colom is studied, an unknown humanist up until now, as well as this letter, of which both the critical edition and the translation are currently being composed.
