    El asesinato ritual del padre –a través de la mutilación y caída de la estatua del zar– preside el comienzo de Octubre, constituyen sin duda el más poderoso de los comienzos posibles para un film que quiere proclamar el acontecimiento de la revolución. Y, sin embargo, el fracaso de Octubre, su incapacidad con constituir esa totalidad orgánica que el propio Eisenstein considerara la forma estética más lograda, estriba en su incapacidad para construir una escena cuando menos equivalente con la que cerrar el film y acusar la plenitud del acontecimiento revolucionario

    The ritual murder of the father -through mutilation and fall of the statue of Czar- that chairs the beginning of October, are undoubtedly the most powerful of the possible beginnings for a film that wants to proclaim the event of the revolution. Yet, the failure of October, its inability to form the organic whole that Eisenstein himself considered the most successful aesthetic form, is its inability to build at least the same scene to close the film and acknowledge the fullness of revolutionary event.
