  • The author argues that few lawyers are ready to answer the question of why they and their law firms exist, and it mentions the purpose of existence in relation to corporate and personal profits. The concept of profit per equity partner (PEP) is addressed, along with law firm partnerships and a shift in the corporate identity plans of various law firms. It states that Vanguard Companies are the ones that go beyond profit to provide "innovative solutions to societal challenges."
