  • The article reports on the updated Capital Adequacy Framework for Islamic banks issued by the central bank of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on November 28, 2012 which took effect on January 1, 2013. Certain requirements subject to transition arrangements under the framework are mentioned. Also highlighted are the provisions governing issuance of Tier 1 capital instruments and Tier 2 capital instruments.
