The article shows how the settlement between oil company Repsol and the government of Argentina over expropriated shares of local subsidiary YPF helped improved the morale of foreign direct investors (FDI). It explores the paradigm in the legal framework of expropriations in Argentina as a result of the settlement. The terms of the settlement are detailed that include the split of bonds and the payment for the expropriated YPF shares.
