The article examines how Arctic peace was built through the will of all the Arctic states to avoid confrontation and promote cooperation, the main factors that challenge the region's peace, and Russia's growing militarization of the region, as well as the increasing danger of disputes from beyond the Arctic. It also offers suggestions on how the West, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in particular, can respond through the development of an Arctic strategy to deter military threats.
