  • The article reports on the draft agreement of Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Asifma) to supplement the comfort letter standard of Hong Kong, China which expects to speed up its negotiations between underwriters and auditors. The proposal is for the Hong Kong Standard on Investment Circular Reporting Engagements 400 that sets out the form and substance for comfort letters and bring-down letters. The role of big four accounting firms is also mentioned.
