    El turismo se configura como uno de los principales motores de desarrollo económico a nivel internacional. Esto ha provocado que, desde hace unos años, hayan aparecido nuevas formas de turismo en los países subdesarrollados. Una de estas tipologías turísticas es el ecoturismo, que se configura con un producto turístico que favorece el desarrollo socioeconómico de las comunidades locales y fomenta la conservación y respeto hacia la naturaleza. El principal objetivo de esta investigación es analizar el marco legal del ecoturismo en República Dominicana, a través de las diferentes normativas turísticas vigentes en el país. El resultado muestra que existe un gran número de normativas turísticas o ecoturísticas en República Dominicana, aunque no existe una ley general que regule el ecoturismo en el país. Esto puede contribuir a que no se esté explotando el potencial ecoturístico en muchas regiones de República Dominicana.

    Tourism is configured as one of the main industries of economic development in the world. In recent years, this has led new forms of tourism in developing countries. Thus, one of these typologies tourism is the ecotourism, which is configured with a tourism that promotes socio-economic development of local communities and promotes conservation and respect for nature. The main objective of this research is to analyze the laws of ecotourism in Dominican Republic, through of the different tourism regulations of the country. The result shows that there are numerous tourism or ecotourism regulations with impact on ecotourism, although there isn´t a specific law for the ecotourism, in general, in the country. The absence of this general law can contribute to that the potential of ecotourism is not developing in many regions of the Dominican Republic.
