    Partint del pensament de Theodor W. Adorno, aquest assaig vol mostrar el tractament que rep el tema de l’absurd a la Trilogia d’Auschwitz de Primo Levi. El treball gira al voltant de dues qüestions centrals en una obra que pretén donar testimoni de l’horror nacionalsocialista: l’una és la tensió que necessàriament es produeix en l’obra de Primo Levi entre la constatació del caràcter absurd i irracional de l’existència del Lager i l’intent d’entendre l’extermini del poble jueu; i, l’altra, la destrucció radical de les expectatives a l’entorn de la percepció del temps i l’espai, enteses aquestes com a formes de l’experiència humana, que té lloc al Lager.

    The aim of this research is to show, in accordance with the thinking of Theodor W. Adorno, the treatment of the topic of the absurd in the Primo Levi’s Auschwitz Trilogy, a work which portrays the national socialist horror. This article is centred on two principal questions: one is the tension between the absurd and irrational existence of the concentration camp and the purpose of understanding the extermination of Jewish people; and the other is the radical destruction of expectations about the perception of time and space, which should be understood as forms of human experience, a kind of experience which takes place in the concentration camp.
