• The article discusses issues related to mergers and acquisitions in the grocery chain of Norway with special reference to grocery store chain Coop Genossenschaft's acquisition of rival grocery chain Ica. It is noted that the Norwegian Competition Authority has approved the merger, which marks exit of a foreign grocery chain from the Norwegian market in less than eight years, impact of the acquisition on the grocery chains on the Norwegian market as well as both producers and consumers
