Resumen de PF 05. Nitrogen fertilizer doses and formic acid application, over silage proteolitic effects in oats silage made confection in three fenologic periods

L. M. Gutierrez, E. M. Viviani Rossi, G. Roldan

  • The use of nitrogen fertilizer on oats crops silage made at early stages of plant groth increases Total nitrogen (TN) and Soluble-N (SOL-N) showing that proteolysis takes place in the silage aditives such as formic acid (5 L/t) reduces this negative effects on the nitrogenous components of herbage. This experiment was carried out at Balcarce Experimental Station (INTA) in Argentina, where oat fertilized with 4 doses of nitrogen in the form of urea: 0, 50, 100 and 150 kgN.ha, where ensiled on 3 dates: (D1): 25/9, (D2): 9/10, (D3): 17/10. A factorial experimental design was applied combining fertilizer, date of ensiling and formic acid addition. The results showed a double TN (%) interaction (P
