  • Foundations in Biochemistry by Jenny Loertscher and Vicky Minderhout is a workbook designed to accompany an instructor’s chosen biochemistry textbook. The book is based on the process-oriented, guided-inquiry learning (POGIL) approach to teaching. Loertscher and Minderhout have successfully used a “lectureless” POGIL approach to teaching biochemistry. This workbook allows biochemistry instructors to incorporate the POGIL approach, in whole or in part, into their classrooms. Instructors who would like their students to engage the material and think about the bigger picture will find Foundations in Biochemistry by Loertscher and Minderhout to be a valuable addition to their biochemistry classroom.
