    Objectives: To analyze the physical structure of the Surgical Center of the University Hospital Antônio Pedro / HUAP, identify inconsistencies and exposed structural guidelines for its operation, rooted in the RDC 50 February 2002. Method: we opted for a qualitative approach with a descriptive use of systematic observation and written by inspection of the Surgical Center ANVISA in data collection. Results: The surgical center is a specific sector, which requires physical structure, location and equipment to meet technical and administrative aspects in order to manage risks and provide input ethical-legal staff and institution. The CC / HUAP presents some inconsistencies in the physical structure and equipment, but in short, comes in line with the RDC 50/2002. Conclusion: Although some non-conformities found, it was observed that the unit searched meet the minimum recommended by the competent body. Therefore, it is the nurse manager at the surgery, the knowledge of the structure of this sector in order to circumvent possible distortion and maximize the quality of care and service he offered.

    Objetivos: Analisar a estrutura física do Centro Cirúrgico do Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro/HUAP, identificar as incongruências estruturais e expor orientações ao seu funcionamento, embasado na RDC 50 de fevereiro de 2002. Método: optou-se pela abordagem qualitativa de cunho descritivo com uso da observação sistemática e roteiro de inspeção em Centro Cirúrgico da ANVISA na coleta dos dados. Resultados: O centro cirúrgico é um setor especifico, o qual requer estrutura física, localização e equipamentos adequados para atender aspectos técnico-administrativos, a fim de controlar riscos e dar subsídios ético-legais a equipe e instituição. O CC/HUAP apresenta algumas incongruências na estrutura física e de equipamentos, mas em suma, entra em consonância com a RDC 50/2002. Conclusão: Apesar de algumas inconformidades encontradas, observou-se que a unidade pesquisada atende ao mínimo preconizado pelo órgão competente. Portanto, cabe ao enfermeiro/gestor do Centro Cirúrgico o conhecimento da realidade estrutural deste setor a fim de contornar possíveis distorções e maximizar a qualidade da assistência e o serviço por ele oferecidos.
