  • Life is still tough but regional ties are strengthening among law firms and businesses as Serbia keeps one eye on EU accession.

    Q: What have 2014 and the start of 2015 been like for your firm? Mark Harrison, managing partner, Harrisons: In 15 years of operations in Serbia, 2014 was our best ever, both financially and with regard to the total headcount of lawyers. As usual, we had no turnover of lawyers.

    The first four months of 2015 have been in the same vein so we are confident of another good year. Although the overall market was poor for most law firms, our banking and restructuring activities have increased and our efforts over the past few years in the Mena region have yielded positive results, in particular from Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately, we predict another poor year in 2015 for the legal market as a whole.
