    The impact of goals in the classification level for the World Cup 2010 in South AfricaIntroduction: Soccer is the most popular coletive sport in the world. Every four years, FIFA organizes the main championship: the World Cup. The most important moment in a soccer match is the goal, because it sets the advantage and disadvantage between the teams. Objective: This research aims to analyze and identify what part of the soccer match has the highest chance to occur a goal. Materials and Methods: This study is characterized as descriptive and observational. Data were collected directly from overviews of the games at the FIFA website (www.fifa.com). Were analyzed the summaries of 830 matches, were recorded 2.464 goals. The total playing time was divided in 6 parts of 15 minutes. Results: 2.464 goals were registered at all, there was a higher incidence of goals at the 15 final minutes of the match, in other words, from 76 to 90 minutes, totaling 574 goals (23.30%) in that period. Discussion: Studies of different championships also showed that the highest incidence occurs goals in the 15 final minutes of the match, however, these studies were performed in different championships and dates. Conclusion: The 15 final minutes of the match is the time that is recorded the highest number of goals, totaling 574 goals in this part of the game, representing a percentage of 23.30% of the total 2.464 goals, while the other part of the match also had a high number  of records was from 60 to 75 minutes into the match, it having a percentage of 18.22%, showing considerable difference in relation to last part of the match, 5.08%.

    Introdução: O futebol é o esporte coletivo mais popular do Mundo. A cada quatro anos a FIFA organiza o principal torneio: a Copa do Mundo. O momento mais importante de uma partida de futebol é o gol, pois ele define a vantagem e desvantagem entre as equipes. Objetivo: Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar e identificar que parte do jogo de futebol tem a maior chance de se registrar um gol. Materiais e Métodos: Este estudo se caracteriza como descritivo e observacional. Os dados foram coletados diretamente das súmulas dos jogos no site da FIFA (www.fifa.com). Foram analisadas as súmulas de 830 partidas onde foram registrados no total 2.464 gols. O tempo total de jogo foi divido em 6 partes de 15 minutos. Resultados: Foram marcados 2464 gols no total, houve maior incidência de gols nos 15 minutos finais de jogo, ou seja, dos 76 aos 90 minutos de partida, totalizando nesse período de jogo 574 gols (23,30%). Discussão: Estudos de campeonatos distintos também evidenciaram que a maior incidência de gols ocorre nos 15 minutos finais de partida, porém, tais pesquisas foram realizadas em campeonatos e datas distintas. Conclusão: Os 15 minutos finais do jogo é o tempo em que se registrou maior número de gols, totalizando 574 gols nesta parte do jogo, que representa um percentual de 23,30% do total de 2464 gols, sendo que a outra parte de jogo em que se obteve também um alto número de registros foi dos 60 aos 75 minutos de partida, tendo percentual de 18,22%, demonstrando uma diferença considerável para a última parte da partida, 5,08%.
