    International transfers in football: a study of comparative case among the biggest clubs in Europe and BrazilFootball is the major reference of what is known as "sports show." Through several interdependent relations between sporting and economic aspects, the football became professional and it is currently guided pursuing by marketing actions that affect the main agents of this environment. The objective of this research is to analyze the reasons why Brazilian athletes have returned from great European clubs, and also the context of transfers of players from biggest clubs in Brazil to the international market. It was concluded that athletes return to Brazil mainly because they are not playing in their clubs frequently, especially in Europe. Whereas most athletes negotiated at the international football is not transferred to the bigger clubs of the world scene, but to clubs of medium and small size of Europe or even of emerging markets in other continents.

    O futebol é a maior referência daquilo que é conhecido como “esporte espetáculo”. Ou seja, por meio das diversas relações interdependentes entre o campo esportivo e o campo econômico, o futebol se profissionalizou e atualmente é norteado por ações mercadológicas, que afetam os principais agentes deste meio. O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar os motivos que levam os atletas brasileiros a retornarem de grandes clubes europeus; bem como o contexto das transferências de atletas dos maiores clubes nacionais para o mercado internacional. Concluiu-se que os atletas retornam para o Brasil principalmente por não estarem atuando com frequência em seus clubes, sobretudo, no continente europeu. Já a maioria dos atletas negociados com o futebol internacional não é transferida para os grandes clubes do cenário mundial, mas para clubes de médio e pequeno porte da Europa ou mesmo de mercados emergentes em outros continentes.
