  • Resumen
    • To be scientifically meaningful, a measurement requires that two numbers be recorded: the value of the measurement itself and the uncertainty in the measurement. The uncertainty is usually expressed as a standard deviation which is not always a straightforward computation. It requires special equations for each step in the computations. In this article, we discuss a user-friendly program that not only removes the laborious computational drudgery required by these equations, but also serves as a valuable pedagogical tool. The program we have developed is called Standard Deviations from Standard Deviations (SDSD) and is compiled for use with an IBM PC.
