Cultivares de gramíneas para pastizales en montes de diferente ecología del Noroeste de España

    En tres sitios de ensayo representativos de grandes comarcas del N. O. de España y con distintas posibilidades para la implantación de pastizales de montaña por su diferente ecología, se han comparado cinco cultivares de Dactylis giomerata (Prairial, Vertas, Baraula, S. 143, IFIE-1), cuatro de Festuca arundinacea (Kenwell, Ky-31, Alta, Fawn), dos de Festuca pratensis (Barenza pasture, Vertas pasture), dos de Lolium perenne (Victorian, Semperweide) y tres de Phleum pratense (S.48, Heidemij, Olimpia); midiendo durante tres años su producción, persistencia y resistencia a la invasión de especies espontáneas, relacionando estos atributos con los cursos meteorológicos. Los resultados muestran grandes diferencias de comportamiento, lo que pone de manifiesto la necesidad de que en los estudios pascícolas se valoren bien las condiciones ecológicas de las comarcas en que se realizan, y se expongan claramente para que puedan acotarse los límites de su posible extrapolación.

    In three triáis representative of extensive regions in the North West of Spain, with different possibilities for the establishment of mountain pastures due to the diffrence in ecological type, there have been compared five cultivars of Dactylis glomerata (Prairial, Vertas, Baraula, S. 143, IFIE-1), four of Festuca arundinacea (Kenwell, Ky-31, Alta, Fawn), two of Festuca pratensis (Barenza pasture. Vertas pasture), two oí Lolium perenne (Victorian, Semperweide) and three of Phleum pratense (S. 48, Heidemij, Olimpia); measuring throughout three years their production, persistence and resistence to the invasión of spontaneous species, relating these atributes to the course of the weather.

    The results show great differences of behaviour, which make aparrent the need, in pasture studies, for careful evaluation of the ecological conditions of the regions in which the triáis are being carried out, and to state these clearly so that the limits of their extrapolation can be determined.
