La geografía en las carreras superiores de turismo en Portugal

    La actividad turística está cada vez más consolidada y los principales factores de desarrollo y globalización han sido el crecimiento del transporte, el aumento de la esperanza de vida y la escolaridad, la institucionalización de las vacaciones pagas y la movilidad social. Mientras que el principal recurso/producto es el territorio. Portugal no queda ajeno a esta dinámica; por un lado debido a su gran diversidad paisajística y cultural, y por otro lado por ser un destino cada vez más procurado. En este contexto, que tiene como escenario principal al territorio, la geografía portuguesa comienza desde temprano a recorrer caminos hoy sistematizados y organizados. Con este artículo se pretende mostrar cómo la geografía aportó nuevos recursos y tiene un rol fundamental en la formación superior de turismo en Portugal.

    The tourism industry, increasingly consolidated, has on the one hand, in the development of transport, increased life expectancy, the increase in schooling, the institutionalization of paid vacations and social mobility, some of the key factors to develop and globalize and on the other hand, has in the territory their main resource/product. Portugal is not oblivious to all these dynamics. On the one hand due to its large landscape and cultural diversity and, on the other hand, for being a destiny more and more sought. It is in this context, that have main scenario the territory, that Portuguese geography begins early to tread paths today systematized and organized. This paper show how geography has opened up new routes and continues to play a key role in the education of tourism in Portugal.
