El arte, como actividad humana, siempre ha sido un reflejo del ser humano y sus circunstancias mientras que, a su vez, ha afectado a los modos de concebir el mundo. Tras el desconcierto en el arte producido a partir de las vanguardias, nació la concepción del Mundo del arte como órgano decisor. Frecuentemente, se ha utilizado el mercado como elemento legitimador de las teorías vertidas por el Mundo del arte pero, actualmente, la teoría y el mercado han experimentado una ruptura que hace cuestionar los cimientos de dichas argumentaciones.

Art, like human activity, has always been a reflection of human beings and their circumstances while, in turn, has affected the ways of understanding the world. After the confusion in art produced from the avant-garde, was born the concept of the art world as decision-making body. Often, we used the market as legitimizing element of the theories expressed by the world of art but currently the theory and the market have experienced a rupture that calls into question the foundations of such arguments.
