One strategy for social reproduction of rural households is to migrate to big cities in order to obtain monetary income. This is a common activity for the mazahua who inhabitant the northwest of the State of México. Both young women and men of all ages are employed temporally or permanently. This has caused that women take responsibility of agicultural and domestic tasks and make decisions on the use of resourses. Also this has caused gender relationships change through outgenerations. Based on that, this paper focuses on the value of female work, highlighting gender percepción of women on structural changes in the community activities. This paper presents biography fragments of the life histories of mazahua women.
