    • One strategy for social reproduction of rural households is to migrate to big cities in order lo obtain monetary income. This a common activity for the mazahua who inhabitant the nortwest of the State of México. Both young women and men of all ages an employed temporally or permanently. This has caused that women take reponsability of agricultural and domestic tasks and make decisions on the use of resonrces. Also this has caused gender relationships change through outgenerations. Based on that, this paper focuses on the value of female work, highlighting gender perception of women on structural changes in the community activities. This paper presents biography fragments of the life histories of mazahua women.
