En este artículo nos adentramos en la historia del Frente Patriótico Manuel Rodríguez (FPMR), organización creada en 1983 por el Partido Comunista de Chile, para implementar los componentes armados más complejos de su Política de Rebelión Popular de Masas (PRPM), con el fin de derrocar a la dictadura del general Augusto Pinochet. El relato mostrará las estrechas relaciones entre el Partido Comunista chileno, Cuba y otros estados socialistas, que le permitió contar con un contingente de oficiales militares con experiencia en combate, y apoyo internacional para conseguir armas en su lucha contra la dictadura militar.En el texto aparecen nombres entre comillas simples, estos son las chapas que utilizaban los militantes del FPMR; los nombres que aparecen entre comillas y cursivas, han sido inventados por el autor, para proteger algunas identidades.

In this article we get into the history of the Manuel Rodriguez Patriotic Front (MRPF), an organization created in 1983 by the Chilean Communist Party, to implement the most complex armed components of their Politics of Masses’ Popular Rebellion (PMPR), to overthrow the of General Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship. The story will shows the close relations between Chilean Communist Party, Cuba and other socialist states, which allowed the Party to rely on a contingent of military officers with combat experience, and international support so as to obtain weapons in their fight against military dictatorship. Names appear in the text with single quotation marks, these are the nicknames used by the MRPF militants; names appearing in quotation marks and italics have been invented by the author, in order to protect some identities.
