The low professional qualification responsible for unemployment?

    The changes in the job market initiated by globalization reduce job offers and blame theindividual for his/her unemployment, saying that his/her low professional qualification is thecause for not finding a job. With the objective of testing this neoliberal hypothesis, this studyinvestigated the first class of undergraduate students of 2008, in the Administration course ofa Higher Education Institution, located in Osasco, SP. The results show that 75% of theseformer students are working in the administrative area and occupying positions of a higherlevel, but the research, through the application of a questionnaire, has also revealed that thereare other elements interfering in the insertion process of these people in the job market.

    As mudanças no mundo do trabalho desencadeadas pela globalização diminuem a oferta depostos de trabalho e responsabilizam o indivíduo pelo seu desemprego, dizendo-lhe que a suabaixa qualificação profissional impede-lhe de encontrar uma ocupação. Com o objetivo detestar essa hipótese neoliberal, foi realizado este estudo entre os egressos da primeira turma deformandos de 2008, do curso de Administração de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior,localizada em Osasco, SP. Os resultados mostram que 75% desses egressos estão atuando naárea administrativa e ocupando cargos de nível superior, porém a pesquisa de campo,mediante aplicação de questionário, também revelou que há outros elementos interferindo noprocesso de inserção dessas pessoas no mercado de trabalho.
