  Se describe e ilustra Thornedia opisthodelphisfrom procedente de un bosque natural en el norte de Vietnam. Se caracteriza por tener una longitud corporal de 0.50-0.57 mm, región labial continua y de 5 μm de anchura, odontostilo atenuado y de 21 μm de longitud ó 4.2 veces la anchura labial, odontoforo lineal, cuello de 148-155 μm de longitud, expansión faríngea de 38-45 μm o 25-29% de la longitud total del cuello, sistema genital femenino mono-opistodélfico , saco prevulvar totalmente ausente, pars refringens vaginae ausente también, V = 45-51, cola cilíndrica (18-24 μm, c = 23.5-31.7, c = 1.5-2.2), y macho desconocido. La identidad de Thornedia se discute en profundidad, incluyendo un perfil histórico, su caracterización morfológica y su taxonomía. A causa de su cutícula tilencolaimoidea y su corta expansión faríngea, se transfiere a Leptonchidae. Se presenta a así como una diagnosis corregida y un compendio de sus especies.

  Thornedia opisthodelphisfrom a natural forest in northern Vietnam is described and illustrated. It is characterized by its body 0.50-0.57 mm long, lip region almost continuous and 5 μm broad, odontostyle attenuate and 21 μm long or 4.2 times the lip region width, odontophore linear, neck 148-155 μm long, pharyngeal expansion 38-45 μm long or 25-29% of total neck length, female genital system mono-opisthodelphic, prevulval sac totally absent, pars refringens vaginae also absent, V = 45-51, tail cylindrical (18-24 μm, c = 23.5-31.7, c = 1.5-2.2), and male unknown. The identity of Thornedia is discussed in depth, including a historical outline, morphological characterization and its taxonomy. Because of the tylencholaimid cuticle and short pharyngeal expansion, it is transferred from Nordiidae to Leptonchidae. An emended diagnosis as well as a compendium of their species are also provided.
