The Museo Arqueológico Nacional has an interesting collection of mediaeval islamic thimbles, some of which are signed. Most of them can be dated between the 10th and 13th Centuries, and severa1 of them come from the Cordoba area. They are interesting, as they give information about the development of industry during the Caliphate and faction kingdoms in al-Aldalus. They belong to two types: of harness-maker, pointed, and of tailor, rounded, being of bronze and copper.
