Resumen de Fe, a story of environmental and human destruction

Paloma Fernández Sánchez

  • This paper presents an ecocritical analysis of one chapter of Ana Castillo’s novel So Far from God. It concentrates on the parallel depiction of human and environmental destruction in that section. In order to do so, it briefly presents the theoretical framework of ecocriticism and ecofeminism, and later focus on the analysis of the devastation process of both the main characters —Fe— and the town in which she lives. This essay supports ecofeminists claim that the fight for women equality has to be parallel to the fighting for nature.
