  • I RECENTLY attended a meeting held by XL Farmcare Midlands to discuss its successful tender for TB testing and arrangements for subcontractors. Payment for testing in my practice will decrease by between 30 per cent and 50 per cent. The arrangements will require subcontractors to incur additional costs in increasing indemnity insurance and an extra layer of bureaucracy in dealing with testing, as well as additional requirements in quality control. These measures could discourage many practices from undertaking testing to the detriment of animal health surveillance on their local farms.....
