THE RCVS has expressed concern about the changes an insurance group is making to its pet insurance policy conditions. In a statement on its website on June 4, the College said that it had been contacted by several veterinary surgeons about changes being made by the RSA Insurance Group, ‘specifically,’ the RCVS reported, ‘encouraging their customers, in non-emergency cases, to contact their insurer first to agree which of their network of “preferred specialist or referral practices” they should go to and, if this does not occur, that the customer could then suffer a financial impact over and above any policy excess’....
