    la divisa, en el Blasón, tal como se trata en esta ponencia se refiere in- equívocamente a la inscripción que acompaña al escudo de armas de todo eclesiástico con derecho a su uso.

    Escudo y divisa se complementan aunque en principio no tienen porqué, y en cuanto a la normativa saber que es sobre todo consuetudinaria, fijada por beneméritos estudiosos de la misma, véase monseñor Bruno Bernard Heim.

    El autor expone su decálogo normativo y en base a él pone de manifiesto la bon- dad o el desacierto de: la composición del escudo (del que se ocupa la Iglesia con una normativa preferentemente referida a la jerarquía que lo adopta); y así mismo de la elección de la divisa, en lo que no entra la Iglesia pues considera no es necesario al ser un complemento que no pertenece al blasón mismo.

    se insiste así mismo en que la dIvIsa además de con este nombre y con el también genérico lEma, se diversifique con nombres como EmPrEsa, motE, mÁXIma o advocacIón e incluso GrIto pues sus definiciones aportan ciertos matices que usados convenientemente dan concreción a la inscripción. aunque no debe ignorarse que no es fácil su elección y asignación como se ve al leer la ponencia.

    the insignia on the coat of arms, as is analysed in this paper, relates unequivocally to the inscription contained in the coat of arms of an ecclesiastic with a right to its use.

    the shield and the insignia complement each other although in principle this does not have to be so. regarding the regulations applied to these insignias it is necessary to know that they are mainly customary and fixed by deserving scholars that studied them, for example monsignor Bruno Bernard Heim.

    the author presents his regulatory list and on this basis he reveals the merits or the mistakes of: the composition of the shield (taken care of by the church as the regulatory body that it belongs to); as well as the choice of insignia not regulated by the church due to the fact that it considers that as it is a complement that does not belong to the coat of arms itself and therefore not necessary.

    at the same time there is insistence that the insignia also be known by the generic word motto as well as EndEavour, sloGan, saYInG... or dEdIcatIon and even crY due to the fact that its definitions provide certain interpretations which if used conveniently give precision to the inscription. It must not be ignored that the choice of word is not an easy one as can be seen from reading the paper.
