El patrimonio cultural que se ha logrado preservar en las ciudades de los países en vías de desarrollo, visto en la perspectiva de la reconfiguración del paisaje cultural urbano en su contexto contemporáneo, así como del espíritu del lugar, es su mayor riqueza y potencial, frente a macroproyectos a escala supranacional en los que las tecnologías y la velocidad ofrece la posibilidad de acercar las distancias y borrar las fronteras culturales; ofrecer atractivos para sus pobladores y visitantes y ser competitivas internacionalmente, al ofrecer lo más genuino de la evolución del paisaje urbano histórico en su amplia diversidad, es una de las posibilidades reales, para lograr ocupar su lugar en el mundo globalizado.
La aplicación de un modelo de gestión basado en la sostenibilidad y la participación ciudadana, podría permitir paulatinamente, reconfigurar el paisaje urbano, afianzar la identidad propia de la ciudad y que la misma juegue su papel en el territorio y el ámbito internacional.

The cultural heritage that has managed to be preserved in the cities of the developing countries, seen in the perspective of the reconfiguration of the cultural urban landscape in his contemporary context, as well as of the local spirit, is his biggest wealth and potential, opposite to large-scale projects to supranational scale in which the technologies and the speed offers the possibility of bringing the distances over and of erasing the cultural borders; to offer attractions for his settlers and visitors and to be competitive internationally, on having offered the most genuine of the evolution of the historical urban landscape in his wide diversity, it is one of the real possibilities, to occupy his place in the encompassed world.
The application of a model of management based on the sustainability and the civil participation, it might allow gradually, to re-form the urban landscape, to strengthen the proper identity of the city and that the same one should play his role in the territory.
