  • The article reports on Europe's capital markets. It mentions the case of failed bank Lehman Brothers which filed 76 insolvency proceedings across 16 jurisdictions, culminating in years of work long after the lender had closed its doors for the last time. Plenty to keep lawyers busy, granted, but navigating the web of regimes, from English schemes of arrangement to strategies modelled on US Chapter 11 proceedings and everything in between is, aside from all else, economically inefficient
