  • The article investigates the key role played by Christianity in the separation between art and religion, a phenomenon entirely outside the horizon of classical culture and that started to assert itself through the rejection, by the early Christianity, of the earnestness (spoude in Greek) recognized during the Classical age to the poetic art.
