Turismo y sexo: Una reflexión teórica desde el homoerotismo y el espacio

    Este trabajo se propone explorar las relaciones entre turismo y homoerotismo a partir de las discusiones y estudios de caso que sus autores han expuesto en publicaciones previas. Para entender el turismo asociado a prácticas homoeróticas desde una visión espacial, se comienza por desvincular el binomio "turismo y sexo" del concepto de "turismo sexual", apoyándose en el papel crucial que juegan las identidades en la discusión de los diferentes conceptos y discursos del fenómeno. Posteriormente, se procede a explorar el consumo sexual durante los viajes y la supuesta mayor proclividad que presentan aquellos viajeros que acostumbran involucrarse en prácticas homoeróticas en comparación con aquellos que no lo acostumbran. Finalmente, se brindan algunos ejemplos de estudios referentes al turismo y sexo en Latinoamérica.

    Tourism and Sex: a Theoretical Exploration from the Perspective of Homoeroticism and Space. This paper explores the relationship between tourism and homoeroticism. The discussion derives from the analysis of case studies published elsewhere by the authors. To understand the relationship between tourism an homoerotic practices from a spatial perspective, the authors begin by disassociating "Tourism and Sex" from the concept of "Sex Tourism", on account of the crucial role played by the identities in the analysis of the different concepts and discourses of the phenomenon. The discussion then shifts to sexual consumption during travel and the supposedly greater proclivity to have sex by those travelers who favor homoerotic practices compared to those who do not. Finally, some examples of studies concerning tourism and gender in Latin America are provided.
